The statistics are startling: One out of five people are affected by a mental health or addictive disorder during their lifetime. While more than 54 million Americans experience a mental health disorder in any given year, fewer than eight million seek treatment.

The good news is that today, remarkably effective treatments are available and have vastly improved the outlook for those who do seek treatment. While some people may require extended treatment and support services, many benefit from flexible, short-term psychotherapies and pharmacological interventions. Numerous resources are available to help people struggling with emotional and behavioral problems find and receive the care that is most appropriate for them.

WPIC’s commitment to research has made it an international leader in discovering effective therapies. Some of the most successful treatments that are now standard throughout the world were pioneered at WPIC.
